Cygnus has become a Managed Services Partner of the international Help Desk and IT Service Management specialist Axios Systems ( 


Cygnus operates in the five key areas of consultancy, managed services, technical resources, security and mobile solutions. The company will feature assyst as the core of its portfolio of market-leading ITSM solutions and has implemented the software into its Service Desk where it will be used to manage the company’s consultants and clients. 


"Our decision followed an in-depth analysis of the market," said Phil McDermott, Operations Director of Cygnus. "assyst was far superior than any of the other products we evaluated. Furthermore Axios has an impressive customer base". 


"assyst supports the LDAP protocol which provides improved migration to new architectures and a more efficient method of populating databases – this was a necessity for us and our clients." 


He continued, "We have recently won a contract for a major construction group. They too were extremely impressed by assyst. The functionality in assyst is exactly what they wanted". 


At any one time the construction firm operates up to 100 building sites, each with its own technology set-up. These remote sites are also being served by Axios’ Web-based product assystNET – a configurable customer self- service incident logging and monitoring tool. 


McDermott continued to explain the benefits, "assyst allows us to not only manage our customers but also our own operations. We have increased control and are able to manage our processes effectively. We can also carry out root cause analysis which in turn makes us more pro-active.
