Axios builds up sales team at the double

Axios Systems, the leading international Help Desk and IT Service Management software provider, has stepped up its sales efforts by adding two product managers to its team. The appointments co-incide with the Edinburgh-based company's moves to win more business for its assyst product suite from ailing U.S. rival Peregrine Systems.


John Nicoll, who has joined as Senior Product Manager, has 20 years experience in selling and marketing information technology. He was latterly Business Development Manager of Performix Technologies, the venture capital-funded company which specialized in performance management solutions for call and contact centers. 


From 1997 to 2000 he was Sales Manager for SAS Institute, specializing in the banking, insurance, manufacturing, utilities and public sectors. John, who holds a BSc. (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering, previously spent 15 years with Hewlett Packard in posts including Sales Supervisor for Scotland. 


Product Manager Calum Kilgour has seven years experience working in customer-facing, revenue-generating roles in the software industry. He joins Axios from TelesensKSCL where he held sales, pre-sales support and training roles. Prior to that he was a Business Systems Analyst with British Aerospace Military Aircraft for five years. 


Axios has sent a high-level management team to its U.S. office following problems at Peregrine Systems which has filed for bankruptcy protection. The company also has offices in Canada, France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.
