ITSM Consultant - MEA

Job purpose

This role is for the Middle East AGS services. In this role you will primarily provide consultancy and expertise in the field of ITSM/ESM best practices and ITSM/ESM platform design and implementation including, but not limited to, assyst implementation, consultancy, workshops, training and knowledge transfer, to the delight of the customer, for Axios revenue generating activities. This includes all activities from planning workshops through customer technical training and hands on installation and configuration services in the customer environment. Strong network skills are critical to the effective installation of the software. Good ITSM knowledge is key to guiding customers through the effective implementation of an ITSM platform. You will be seen as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor.

Job responsibilities

  • Delivery of high-quality consultancy and implementation
  • Ownership of the quality and delivery of consultancy and training in the specialist area – technical, process or business
  • Providing advice and guidance to customers on delivery of Axios consultancy programme
  • Defining and articulating customer requirements and proposing best practice scenarios and solutions
  • Designing, building and implementing the assyst product suite against scope
  • Promoting and articulating additional customer requirements/adoptions based on best practice methodologies

Skills and Experience


  • 5+ years working in the ITSM services/consulting industry with Enterprise level applications such as BMC, CA, IBM or HP
  • Good written and verbal communications skills as well as interpersonal skills
  • A strong technical mind with the ability to quickly extract, synthesize, and relay, key information from multiple sources without becoming overwhelmed
  • Practical experience with relational databases: Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately to meet tight timescales
  • Ability to take a methodical approach to activities such as system analysis and data structuring
  • Strong technical background with the ability to discuss architecture, hardware and software
  • The ability to quickly learn new concepts and technologies and convert them into customer solution
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • A Customer-oriented personality exhibiting professionalism and enthusiasm at all times
  • An analytical, detail oriented, approach and thought process
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel 50% of the time to customer locations throughout the Middle East and potentially worldwide
  • Able to demonstrate industry level presence and expertise in a specific area such as CMDB, (product), configuration management (process) or IT strategy (business). Known as an expert in specialist area
  • Good experience in all areas of ITSM/ESM including:
    • Comfortable discussing ITSM adoption practices to customers
    • A solid understanding of ITIL best practices and process design
  • Ability to work under pressure and be able to context-switch between projects as required
  • Comfortable and competent with testing with clients during implementation phase
  • The capability to build and deliver training and user documentation


  • Strong project and time management skills, including handling multiple assignments from conception to completion simultaneously and on deadline
  • Broad range of experience across several service delivery (consultancy and training) organisations, and has been involved in a wide range of different types of implementations
  • The confidence, comfort and instinct required to interact with and drive consensus across multiple stakeholders, including executives
  • ISO20000 Practitioner Certification

Essential Qualifications

ITIL V2 / V3 Foundations Certification at a minimum, Computing degree (BSc, MSc), or equivalent programming/system design experience
