Louisville Jefferson Metro rolls out IT Service Management solution, assyst, to support 6,000 end users across 46 agencies

Axios Systems, one of the world’s leading providers of IT Service Management (ITSM) solutions, announces that Louisville Jefferson Metro has rolled out Axios Systems’ ITIL®-based solution, assyst, to support 6,000 end users across 46 government and quasi-government agencies.

Louisville Jefferson Metro provides a wide range of services to 700,000 residents in a 386 square mile area of Kentucky. In 2006, the organization embarked on a mission to become more efficient and improve the effectiveness of its IT infrastructure. It began educating its employees on the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL®), and made a commitment to have 100 percent of its IT team ITIL® Foundation certified. Following the education initiative, the organization realized that it needed to enhance the level of service provided to customers. Therefore, in November 2006, Louisville Jefferson Metro formed a strategic partnership with a software integrator to help with the acquisition and implementation of a new ITSM solution.

A 12-person selection team was assembled to choose the new ITSM solution, and assyst was deemed as providing the “best value” in comparison to two other short-listed vendors. The selection team determined that assyst was the most effective, both financially and functionally, in regards to Louisville Jefferson Metro’s 200 solution requirements.

Ross McIntosh, Vice President of Axios in North America comments, “The simplicity of assyst’s single platform is being leveraged well by the team at Louisville Metro. The organization has deployed assyst across 46 different agencies. Even more impressive, this has been done purely through configuration, requiring no customization of the code whatsoever. More and more organizations are moving to consolidate their IT services into a shared Service Desk, and Louisville Metro is a great example of this.”
