Global IT Leader Axios Systems Signs Up a New Partner As Part Of Acceleration In Activity In South Africa
23/06/2009

Axios Systems, one of the world's leading providers of IT Service Management (ITSM) solutions, has today announced a partnership agreement with one of South Africa's leading business transformation and software consultancies, Johannesburg-based Ovations Group.

Under the agreement, Axios will train the Ovations team on how to implement and get the most out of Axios' core IT Service Management solution, assyst. Axios will also work closely with Ovations on joint marketing initiatives. The joint offering to the market brings together the strength of one of the world's leading ITSM software solutions with the local knowledge and consulting expertise of the Ovations Group, which has consulted to, and implemented solutions at, many of South Africa's major companies over the past decade.

The move comes as Axios seeks to extend and deepen its presence and commitment to the region. The provider announced late last year that it is striving to help Kenyan companies become more efficient through the implementation of ITIL®-based best practice ITSM technology and practices.

On April 15th 2009, Gartner released a report entitled "Market Trends: Enterprise Software, EMEA, 2008-2013", which states that "the Middle East and Africa, while not immune from the downturn, is weathering the crisis somewhat better". More importantly, Gartner expects the Middle East and Africa (MEA) to be the third fastest growth region in terms of software spending, behind Asia Pacific and Latin America, with expected growth of more than 8% between 2008 and 2013. The report states that "the [IT Operations Management] market will grow to nearly €5.3 billion by 2013". The report goes on to state that "the [IT Service Desk] market is expected to grow 8% during the next five years".

Steve Botha, Manager of the Southern African region for Axios Systems commented, "We have been doing business in South Africa for some time now, but we recently decided to step up our activity as part of an aggressive global expansion strategy during the current economic environment. We see this as a very strong opportunity as companies seek to reduce costs, introduce greater efficiencies and manage risk – all things that our software assyst brings about. We also believe that companies in South Africa will continue to invest in their IT infrastructure this year in preparation for the 2010 Soccer World Cup, which will bring with it continued business opportunities for local companies."

About Axios Systems

Axios Systems is the world's leading provider of IT Service Management (ITSM) solutions. Its customer-centric approach, combined with its award-winning software, enables customers to improve their Service Delivery and Support and deliver Continual Service Improvement (CSI) by helping to align and realign IT services to changing business needs, supporting business processes and improving productivity.

Benefiting from more than 20 years of development and investment around Best Practice principles, Axios Systems' core solution, assyst, built around our market-leading Configuration Management Database (CMDB), intuitively steers users through the ITIL® (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) processes which help organizations transition toward the next generation of ITSM and Service Desks. assyst offers a unique lifecycle approach to ITSM with the integration of all ITIL® processes (including Incident, Capacity, Problem, Change, Asset, Configuration and Service Level Management), twelve of which have been verified by Pink Elephant's PinkVERIFY service as compatible with industry best practices (based on ITIL® V3), in a fully integrated, out-of-the-box application. It empowers management with a dashboard-based transparent view of real-time performance against Service Level Agreements (SLA), and Operations Level Agreements (OLA) using Web 2.0 technologies.

Implementing assyst into an organization optimizes IT Infrastructure efficiency, reduces overheads and lowers the total cost of IT ownership (TCO), helping to ensure a significant return on investment (ROI) with rapid time-to-value. Axios also offers a comprehensive set of consulting and training services to support ITSM best practices in an organization.

Axios is headquartered in the UK, with offices across Europe, the Americas, Middle East and Asia Pacific. Axios' global presence is further strengthened with a worldwide network of partners. For more information, visit: www.axiossystems.com.
