The first conference of the newest international branch of the IT Service Management Forum (itSMF) will take place in Paris on 4 December.
The French association's inaugural conference at Courbevoie will mark the latest development in the growth of the UK-based itSMF which also has chapters in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, South Africa, Switzerland, the USA and Japan.
The event will be attended by delegates from France, Belgium, Switzerland and Canada as well as hopefully francophone Africa and Luxembourg.
"The association has been set up to spread and develop Best Practice in IT Service Management and make best use of the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL®)," said Francis Ronez, Director for France of Axios Systems (www.axiossystems.com) who has played a leading role in its establishment.
"It will help promote the 0exchange of ideas and knowledge for the benefit of members of the organization. We have already had a very encouraging response to our initial recruitment campaign. ITIL® is an increasingly important force in the French IT industry so we are confident that this launch is well timed."
Francis Ronez has taken responsibility for the association's marketing drive which includes membership, events, sponsorship and communications including a new Website and sale of the French-language pocket guide to ITSM (basis of an ITIL® Foundation Certificate).
Members' benefits include discounts on documentation, seminars and conferences, an e-mailed newsletter, specialist workshops and the opportunity to set up local or sectoral interest groups.
