Axios programed for Mideast expansion with Cyprus hub

The operation in Nicosia will complement core technical developments carried out at the firm’s headquarters in Edinburgh, Scotland. Axios Systems specializes in Help Desk and IT Service Management software.

“Cyprus is a good choice for the latest part of Axios’ international expansion,” newly appointed Country Manager Yangos Nicolaou said. “IT skill levels here are very high, with the island having one of the highest per capita rates of people earning university level qualifications. It is also well placed geographically to help win even more business from the Middle East and Mediterranean region.”

Nicolaou was previously General Manager, Specialized Markets, for NetVision, the software products and services subsidiary of Logicom, Axios Systems’ partner in Cyprus. Prior to that he was Senior Manager, GlobalSoft.com, formed from the merger of the most prominent and longest established software companies on the island, and held senior roles with other software firms.

Earlier this year Axios announced it had won business from the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) to help centralize its IT infrastructure. Using Axios’ assyst solution, the Authority can offer a centralized service desk to all its users. On 1 May Cyprus joined the European Union following six years of negotiations.

Axios also has offices in Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Munich, Melbourne, Sydney, Toronto, and Herndon (Virginia) and San Francisco in the USA.
