Axios MD wins Entrepreneur of the Year Award
14/06/2001

The award is the latest success for Edinburgh-based Axios which was recently voted the UK’s best Help Desk and IT Service Management software vendor for the second year running. Its assyst product allows customers to manage and control effectively their IT systems, log and track incidents, and uncover the causes of underlying problems.

Mr Symeonides founded Axios in 1988 with his wife Ailsa who is the firm’s Sales and Marketing Director. The company now employs more than 100 people in five countries, and has a string of blue chip clients in the private and public sectors.

"This is another powerful boost for the entire Axios team and a tribute to our product," he commented. "It comes at a particularly appropriate time when we are starting to take on our major American competitors in their own back yards." Axios launched its first US operation early this year and also had offices in France, Germany and the Netherlands.

The Entrepreneur of the Year programme, organized by Ernst & Young, is a regional, national and international awards scheme which identifies and applauds the achievements of outstanding entrepreneurs within successful, growing and dynamic businesses.

Scotland’s category award recipients go through to the national awards and join the Entrepreneur of the Year Institute, created to honor the world’s best entrepreneurs. The UK awards will be presented in London in October.
