    This role works with our customers to guide them in the effective implementation of our ITAM technology, optionally including SAML.   This includes all activities from planning workshops through customer technical training and hands on installation and configuration services in the customer environment. Strong network skills are critical to the effective installation of the software.   Good software asset management knowledge is key to guiding customers through the effective implementation of SAML.

    This role also works closely with the assyst Consultants to ensure the ITAM/SAML portion of the implementation is part of cohesive and effective total solutions for customers.

    Primary Job Functions

    • Work with customers to devise a solution that may encompass discovery, inventory, automation and software deployment using the ITAM toolset.   Most of the design activity is expected to be onsite.
    • Engage with the customer’s network, security, desktop and server support staff to ensure the optimum use of the ITAM produce set within the customer’s business
    • Work with customers to implement an effective Software Asset Management program encompassing;
    • Gathering of the initial software inventory
    • Match of purchased licenses, product usage rights and discovered software to produce a compliance position statement
    • Review of SAM policies and procedures
    • Develop and maintain a SAM plan
    • Implement effective monitoring solutions as required for a given customer project
    • Work with Axios ITSM implementation teams to integrate the ITAM solution with the assyst CMDB and overall ITSM solution.


    Industry Qualifications

    • Computing degree (BSc, MSc), or equivalent programming/system design experience 
    • 5+ years working in the ITAM services/consulting industry with the ITAM portions of applications such as Flexera, SNOW, LAN Desk, Altiris or CA Unified Infrastructure Management
    • ITIL® V2 / V3 Foundations Certification preferred

    Good written and verbal communications skills as well as interpersonal skills. Strong project and time management skills, including handling multiple assignments from conception to completion simultaneously and on deadline. 
    A strong technical mind with the ability to quickly extract, synthesize, and relay, key information from multiple sources without becoming overwhelmed. The confidence, comfort and instinct required to interact with and drive consensus across multiple stakeholders, including executives.
    Practical experience with relational databases: Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle Preference of home office within 30 minutes of a major airport
    Ability to work quickly and accurately to meet tight timescales Microsoft LicenseWise or License Advisor experience
    Ability to take a methodical approach to activities such as system analysis and data structuring. Recent experience with report writing tools
    Strong technical background with the ability to discuss architecture, hardware and software  Certification in Software Asset & License Management such as:
    • Microsoft - Designing, Assessing, and Optimizing Software Management (SAM)
    • IAITAM – Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) 
    The ability to quickly learn new concepts and technologies and convert them into customer solutions 

    Certification In Hardware Asset Management and Inventory Discovery such as:

    • IAITAM - Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional  (CHAMP) 
    • Microsoft Networking Fundamentals 098-366
    • Microsoft Security Fundamentals 098-367
    The ability to work independently with minimal supervision Certification in license compliance for at least on vendor
    A Customer-oriented personality exhibiting professionalism and enthusiasm at all times  
    An analytical, detail oriented, approach and thought process  
    Flexibility and willingness to travel 50% of the time to customer locations in North America and potentially worldwide  
    Valid driver license and willingness to drive to customer sites as required (e.g. rental cars)  
    Good experience in all areas of ITAM/SAML including:
    • Comfortable explaining license compliance to customers
    • A solid understanding of software licensing including being comfortable explaining license compliance to customers
    • Patch management 
    • Automated software deployment
    • System Monitoring and Alerting (Event Management)
    Ability to work under pressure and be able to context-switch between projects as required  
    Windows and Linux administrative experience
