Siemens chooses assyst for German clients

Siemens Business Services (SBS), one of the world's top 10 IT outsourcing and maintenance organizations, has selected Axios Systems' IT Service Management software assyst for use at norisbank and commercial financing group Hypo Real Estate in Germany.

The contracts, which focus on asset and incident management, represent further significant successes for Axios (www.axiossystems.com) in that country.

SBS, which had a turnover of €5.8 billion ($6.9 billion) in the financial year to September 30, 2002, chose the ITSM software as major parts of projects to develop the two companies' IT infrastructures and improve the efficiency of their Help Desks.

Factors in its choice of assyst included speed of implementation, system performance, and compatability with the IT Information Library (ITIL®) - internationally accepted guidelines for Best Practice in Service Management.

A primary objective of both projects is the setting up of a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to manage all IT assets and match them to problems reported to the Help Desk. The assyst CMDB will become the focal point for reports used by IT management.

Nürnberg-based norisbank, acquired by the DZ Bank group in October 2003, has agreed to a five year deal under which SBS will develop and maintain its Internet banking and on-line credit application systems. Hypo Real Estate Group is one of Europe's largest providers of commercial real estate financing.
