Conference Streams

Stream 1: Building a Business Case – Where's the Value?
Getting business buy-in for new projects or implementations can be an uphill struggle as all parties involved are likely to ask - ‘what's in it for me?' It can sometimes be hard to see the benefits and prove value. In this stream we intend to illustrate how to do exactly that, by showing you where the value lies and the benefits that can be achieved with assyst functionality, including Service Catalog, Self-Service and assystWEB. By focusing these areas into a business case we can also help you promote these features within your organization.
Who is this stream aimed at?
Managerial level or anyone who:- Wants to understand the benefits/value to their team/organization
- Is looking to understand the Business Case/ROI that can be achieved
Stream 1 Sessions
Self Service
This session covers the business proposition for Self Service. It will summarize and address the challenges you may face in trying to gain business buy-in, while also detailing the benefits that can be achieved.
Service Catalog
One of the main talking points within the ITSM industry at the moment, the Service Catalog, can bring immense value and cost savings to an organization. The benefits are exhaustive, so this session aims to summarize these for you and show you how they can be achieved, in a way that will help you promote it back to your organization.
Compare Your Business Metrics: Service Value Index (SVI)
Service Value Index (SVI) is Axios' benchmarking tool for identifying areas of maturity and opportunities for improvement. This is done quickly with a small set of questions, which cover a number of areas - not just ITIL®, but operational efficiency, strategy and financial management. It's particularly useful as a 'before and after' measure for improvement projects.
The session presents the SVI approach with the results and trends of Axios customers.

Stream 2: Practical Projects - Talk Me Through It
Once you have management and business buy-in for additional functionality such as Service Catalog or Self Service, it will be up to you to carry out the practical elements of the implementation. There is always pressure to deliver a solid and successful project, as quickly and efficiently as possible, and often with limited resource. This stream will take you through the practicalities of these projects and show you how best to go about such tasks with proficiency and timeliness.
Who is this stream aimed at?
Hands-on, operational level or anyone who:- Wants to get a head start in the "how-to's"
Stream 2 Sessions
Implementing assystNET
This session will cover the operational aspects of setting up. It will provide hints and tips to help you plan a successful implementation.
Implementing assyst Service Catalog
While it's clear the benefits of a Service Catalog are great, it can be daunting to begin a project within an area of ITSM that is new to you. The Service Catalog has to be thought out carefully and the service hierarchy considered in detail before launching into designing the system. It is vital to get this right so this session aims to help you with these areas.
Web Client – Upgrading made easy
At Axios, we understand that some of you are apprehensive about moving to the web client. This session looks at the various ways of installing the Web Client: moving from Windows to Web, Windows and Web to Web, and new customers going straight to the web client and the benefits involved. You will also be given an overview of the steps, architecture and skills required.
It should be noted that this will not be a detailed Technical discussion.
-
Stream 3: Maximizing Your assyst – Do More with What You've Got
Axios understands that there is increased pressure within the current commercial climate to do more with less. Resource or budget cuts and other constraints can leave you disheartened and under increased strain in your day to day job. With this in mind, we aim to show you how you can maximize your existing assyst implementation to help you do more with what you already have. This stream will cover areas such as Integrations, Training and Communications.
Who is this stream aimed at?
All levels, particularly anyone who is looking:- For more technical sessions
- To explore automation and integration options
or - Looking at a 'shared services' option on a more managerial level
Stream 3 Sessions
Non-IT Use of assyst
Many more organizations are using assyst for areas out with IT, such as Facilities Management and HR - there are many benefits that can be gained from this as this session will detail.
Improve Communications (Smartmail)
Informing key stakeholders throughout the life cycle of Incident, Problem and Change Management is essential for any support service operation. This can range from confirmations that work is starting, progressing or has been finished; to less obvious ones about change scheduling, SLA thresholds approaching and stock levels diminishing.
This highly practical session will illustrate how to configure assyst and Smartmail to handle these situations and more.
Integrating assyst with Other Products
This session will explain the opportunities available to integrate third party systems with assyst, to maximize your investment.
Knowledge Management – Get the most out of it
Knowledge is the life-blood of any organization, and in today's complex corporate world, managing business services and the IT environment has never been more challenging.
Supporting the infrastructure is beyond the competency of any single individual, so organizations must implement a knowledge management strategy to underpin service support and business continuity. Accurate knowledge of business-critical services is a necessity, with correct and swift knowledge retrieval essential to customer satisfaction, business efficiency and profitability.
